I really liked this and enjoyed seeing Anna and Brody’s relationship develop. It reminded me a bit of The Two Lives of Lydia Bird.

I actually listened to the audiobook for this one and absolutely loved it! Antonia Beamish did a wonderful job narrating this book. I loved her voice changes and the pauses she added -- she knew exactly how to captivate the reader and bring Fiona Lucas's book to life.

The characters in this story are realistic and relatable going through life and coping with grief in their own way. The Last Goodbye is a bittersweet story about loss, moving on, and allowing yourself to accept happiness and forgiveness.

This was really a cute story and the writing was done really well. Unfortunately for me, I just never really felt a spark between Brody and Anna. They seemed to lack chemistry and their story of falling in love without ever meeting in person just didn't convince me. I am normally okay with cheesy romance that isn't realistic, but this one just didn't blow me away. I loved the mental health aspects of this book and how they addressed grief and anxiety. Overall, I liked it and thought it was super cute, so I hope someone else really loves it!!

Thank you to #netgalley for an advanced copy of this audiobook for review.

This novel slowly built and built just like the relationships that play out in it. I found myself becoming invested in the characters and getting disappointed when I arrived to my destination (listen on the drive to and from work). I’ll admit to being frustrated sometimes with the pace and characters, but I think that was pretty true to real life- people can be frustrating! Overall an enjoyable book, with an easy to listen to narrator with a brilliant accent.

Beautiful and gut wrenching romance novel exploring grief and the deep search for human connection. Level 1 steam, smooches at the end.
