I had hard time immersing myself in this one, it took me long while to get through the first 30% and i didn't start feeling the chemistry between the two more than half way through the book.
It wasn't bad, nothing so drastic, it was fine verging on average and Neve Wilder is never lukewarm for me, that's why I'm disappointed in this one.
I don't know why i cant get into this series. Its mostly author i know and love, i was positive ill love every single one of this.

3.5⭐️ This was a sweet cocky frat boy meets sassy nerd romance.
I loved that Cory is also secretly such a nerd about the ocean, fish and the environment in such a complimentary way to Spencer. They had great banter and sweet moments amid the sexual tension, exhibitionism and fake hate. While I enjoyed the book, the pace was lacking and stagnated at some points. I don’t mind the bet premise but I really hate a third act break up that takes weeks to resolve. Personally, I think Cory and Spencer’s development up to that point was done well enough to warrant good communication and trust between them in the face of the bet being revealed. But the big brand gesture Cory prepared made up for it.
Overall it was an enjoyable read, but it just didn’t hook me in the way I like my romances to. I’m still looking forward to the rest of the series.
Favorite quotes:
And a mouth that, well, if it wasn’t currently spewing venom at me, would leave me curious about how it’d feel wrapped around my cock.
I’ve been harboring a growing suspicion that touching Spencer would prove addictive. Now, for better or worse, I know for sure.
“I can’t stop thinking about you. I think about you all the time. It’s miserable. And electrifying.” “And terrifying.” He nods. “All of those things, and I love you, too,”

Ooof, I couldn't get into this book. The writing really annoyed me and I wasn't hooked by the characters. I've liked other books by this author but this one wasn't for me.
A cute quick read with hot moments obviously. This author really knows how to write some quality smut. The climax didnt hurt like i was expecting it to so i knocked off a star for a bit lackluster conflict.
Read this book before,
