For a very simple concept, it just seems a little odd to have such long names for the main characters. Must we really call our main characters Big and Little Nutbrown Hare? Try reading that name aloud. Otherwise, very cute story but can it be Big Rabbit and Little Rabbit?
Because this is a children's book, you can't not like it. It is a beautiful short story about how much children and their parents love each other. I can imagine reading this to children in the future.
OK--I don't get this book. I just picked it up at a thrift store, feeling like Jackson is probably missing out on a major rite of passage if he doesn't read this as a toddler, but I don't get it. So the big nutbrown hare has to outdo the little nutbrown hare every time? It's a competition, is it? Sure, it's pretty and all, but someone needs to explain to me why this is a classic. Is my Mom card going to be revoked for saying that?
A staple, I read it to my daughter and bought this book to read to my mum. A beautiful book for anyone you love
Reading this one before bed. It's very sweet.
