My favourite in this series so far.
This one has all the feels, I can’t put it into words

K. Bromberg continues her “Play Hard” series with Hard To Lose, the story of sports agent Chase Kinkade and veteran Ryan Camden who had once aspired to play in the MLB.
Even though baseball had been his sanctuary, Gunner Camden the soldier had to give up on it. And after surviving his deployment he settled into his life as a bar owner and volunteer until the most confident woman he’s ever seen walks into his bar like a breath of fresh air and sunlight, tilting his world on its axis.
After receiving a five-year-old thank you letter addressed to her father, Chase can’t stop thinking about the man who wrote it. Under the pretense of finding the vet for publicity purposes she goes to the small military town telling folks she a graduate student.
She never imagined the sexy bartender she caught feelings for would turn out to be the very man she was looking for. And after getting to know him and the fact that lies are a deal breaker for him, how can she possible admit the truth? But without revealing it, how can they possibly have a future?
I had never read a book by K. Bromberg and I hope I never skip one from here on out. I loved this story. Both Chase and Gunner are charming. Chase is smart, confident and sassy and I loved her forwardness. Gunner is not just HOT, he’s also incredibly caring, nice, giving, a true hero and possible too good to be true.
I ached for Gunner and I loved how Chase helped him start living his life without regrets. I cheered for them from the very beginning. I smiled, blushed, swooned and fanned myself. They were perfect together and the only reason their story doesn’t get a perfect 5 stars is because I felt the resolution to their conflict was a bit too easy.
Hard to Lose is book #4 of the Play Hard series by K. Bromberg. Told from several both POV with TWO deliciously swoon epilogues. Genre: Contemporary Romance Military romance | Sports Romance

Gunner and Chase
A lot of series don’t compare to the first but this one gets better and better. So far my favorite of the series. Your heart just pours out for Gunner. I really wish we could have seen some kind of revenge to the step idiot. But, love seeing the healing, growth, love, and chemistry between these two. Great story!

“She’s heaven. She’s hell. She’s the temptation I can’t resist and the torture I willingly put myself through, so I can watch her come undone before I get mine.” —Gunner Camden
“My world used to have no beginning or ending point but now when I look at him, he’s both of those to me.” —Chase Kincade

I love this series so much, my heart has never been fuller. so full it's almost bursting. I was taken aback by the writing yet again. It was just remarkable how well K. Bromberg was able to write a charming sports romance with an ounce of spice and heartbreaking situations that might make her reader cry loosely.
The 'she falls first but he falls harder' trope is what I love most about this novel. It was endearing how Chase acknowledged that she had never been herself before meeting Gunner. Her coming out of her shell and finding her happily ever after makes me very pleased. And Gunner, this man, down bad for him. One of the story's pivotal moments is when he gets the courage to be vulnerable and open with her. Also, they were simultaneously joyful and depressed as they relished the few times they had left before everything ended.
The close bond between the father and daughter and the Kincade sisters, who never stop helping one other despite everything they have been through, are two other elements that make this book so wonderful. Particularly when we are able to meet the new family member, such as Chase's new nephew and soon-to-be niece.
Not to mention we get to see that Chase finally has a healthy relationship with her ex, Finn, which sort of giving us some tease about what's coming up for the next book. I will absolutely read Hard to Love but not right after this tho💥🏃🏻♀️
