This was a fun plot, didnt feel the connection between the two main characters. Not sure i will follow this story. Liked the idea of Brynla being the only one to handle the dragons but no one seems to have an issue with using the dragons.
This just might be my favorite dragon fantasy to ever exist!
I had no idea when I first started this book that it was going to take over my life the way it did. I practically binge-read this and I have zero regrets about that. I wish I could go back and re-read it for the first time again.
The plot is so intriguing and I thought the world-building was fun! Brynla and Andor stole my entire heart and then some. I'm absolutely smitten with the both of them and he calls her "lavender girl" 😍😍
I also did not expect that twiston Brynla having the blood of dragons , but it makes a lot of sense when you think about it. Also, that ending?! I am praying and hoping for a book two. I'm so intrigued where this story can go next. I'm hooked.

1 star. DNF'd at 11%/C4. Tandem read with audio and the narrators (at least the two for the FMC and MMC, dunno whose POV the 3rd would be) were fine. It is dual narration.
This needed wayyyyyyy more editing and time sitting in a dragon mound. As is, it was released far too early and completely fumbled such an interesting premise in just the first few chapters. It was extremely info dumpy, boring, and full of tell not show. Sometimes less is more and this novel could've benefited from that. I honestly struggle to believe that this was trad published in this state. I wouldn't waste money on this, I wish I had read the sample first.
Also there are no content warnings for anything, my eBook copy goes Cover > Titles by Karina Halle > Title Page > Copyright > Contents > Dedication > Map of... > Glossary > History of... > Prologue, and nowhere in all of that is content warnings. There should be one for animal death, the dog actually dies in the first 7%. He does come back to life in the very next chapter with little explanation but for those not expecting that or wishing to read anything with that in there, there is no heads up.

Realm of Thieves was such an interesting take on the dragon books taking over the romantasy space. I loved the switch to have Brynla be a thief stealing dragon eggs as opposed to having some sort of bond or partnership with them. There was also a lot to love in general from this book as it had some of my must haves in a romantasy — political intrigue, magic, heists, enemies to lovers, and of course dragons. I really appreciated how Halle used the foreword to get readers comfortable with the Dragemor history. The world building in general was really well done as well especially since it was such a large component to the overall story. I enjoyed the relationship building and dynamic between Brynla and Andor. I especially loved that it was told through both of their POVs. The may area I struggled with this was in the pacing. There were many times where it felt the story stalled out before picking up again.
