THE FALL OF SHANE MACKADE is the last book in the series and centers on the charming and devilish Shane, the youngest MacKade brother. He's playful, earthy, and devoted to his farm and the last thing he wants is to end up in a serious relationship. I loved watching Shane fall because he just doesn't know what hit him when it comes to Rebecca. She's spunky, super intelligent, and doesn't seem to be falling for his charms. It was so great watching these two circle each other while refusing to admit their feelings. I particularly loved Rebecca's mix of awkward nerd and outspoken woman; she's completely turned her life around and is determined to do things that she enjoys instead of always doing what her parents expected of her. Shane and Rebecca seem like an odd pairing on the outside but they really come to understand each other and work as a couple.

i had high hopes for this book. i shouldn’t have unfortunately.
i thought rebecca overdid it with her confidence act at the beginning. she sounded condescending and mean calling shane “farm boy”.
i didn’t think shane would be the most closed minded of the brothers.

Liked this last book in the series the best, it was adorable and interesting all way through. Bit sad that the series has come to an end but I had fun reading it!
Very enjoyable book. Shane has been my favorite brother throughout the series, and I was really looking forward to his story. He is the farm boy out of the bunch, and being born and raised on a farm, I was interested what Nora Roberts would do with a farm boy. I was not disappointed. Rebecca was very likable as well, and watching her discover the farm and herself was really sweet. I loved Rebecca's cool, calm and doctor like assessments of Shane when they were arguing.
I listened to the Audible audiobook, read by Luke Daniels. Luke Daniels has to be one of my favorite narrators of all time, but I struggled at one point with Rebecca's voice. It was slightly childish, which I could stand, but when it really killed what was supposed to be a really funny scene.
Overall, I would suggest this series for any Nora Robert's fan, and for any romance novel fans who happen to like the civil war. If you need a quick escape, these books give a really humorous, yet touching story to fall into. I would suggest reading the entire series in order, just so you aren't spoiled at the outcomes of the others. However, this is a romance novel, so the leading man and leading lady of each are pretty much going to end up together, so reading them out of order might not spoil much, but you'll miss the three backstories needed for the conclusion of the ghosts.

she got drunk on a bottle of wine and tried to seduce Shane, she sounded, at most, like a 6 year old. The ick factor of listening to what sounded like a first grader trying to get a full grown man to sleep with her was so gross thatOverall, I would suggest this series for any Nora Robert's fan, and for any romance novel fans who happen to like the civil war. "Shane MacKade loved women. He loved the look of them, the smell of them, the taste of them—everything about them. So the last thing he expected was to become a one-woman man. And even more surprising was that it was the Ph.D.-toting academic Rebecca McKnight that had him heading for a fall. Are Shane’ s days as a bachelor over? It’ s a possibility..." (From Amazon)
A great conclusion to this contemporary romance series. Finally, we see Shane fall for a woman who is his match.
