enjoyed some of it but disliked a majority of it !
I’m so maddddd this book has slumped me so bad. Like I can’t even pick up another book rn

I think if I'd been in a different mind set while reading this I would have preferred it more. I think I was feeling a bit too upbeat to really connect with this.

Very good, Bukowski really knows what he is doing in terms of his ability to write. This novel really gives insight into Bukowski's life and how he feels about things and his philosophy on life and how he deals as well as relates to things. This book is certainly for the average reader but anyone that knows anything about Bukowski will certainly get more out of it than the average reader.

In the morning it was morning and I was still alive . Maybe I'll write a novel, I thought. And then I did.

concise prose, abrasive and unapologetic, laced a bit with humor, though it failed to resonate with me.

Boring, repetitive

I wanted to ahte this soo badly and frequently hated it bc good god is it misogynistic (I mean we've been knew but PHEW it's hard to read) but something about it... bukowski hits u w the most disgusting shit and then drops in a couple sentences that make u believe in humanity again and it's all redeemed for a second
Also good God I wish my biggest problem was a union job

An interesting read...unsure if the negatives outweigh the positives.
