honestly i was really excited to read this but i did not like the characters and i realized i did not care what happened to them
i also didn’t like the way detransition was handled in this book. it just felt like the author saw detrans people as failed trans people which is a really gross way to look at a super complex and diverse population.

Didn't finish at 62%. I tried, I really did. Such overindulgent writing with just the strangest, flimsiest plot. It was one of those books where I questioned who allowed those characters to be out there humaning and adulting without supervision. That was probably the author's point, but it just irritated the shit out of me. I understand the good stuff folks pointed out about the book in reviews, and the pockets of good writing are what kept me reading so long.
