Minor spoilers on character description. I loved this book. I would do anything to be able to read this again without knowing how it ends. I loved the flashbacks to when Liz was a kid and her mom was alive.  It was predictable but very well written. It wasn’t super predictable when reading but at the start you could kind of predict how the plot goes but there is a little plot twist.  The minor plot twist throws you off completely. I really enjoyed the book itself. The main character was likable, relatable and made some mistakes which makes her more relatable and characters like Wes, Michael, Joss her stepmom and dad even Alex are relatable also. I feel like no one was perfect like they have in other books where the main character does no wrong or a lot wrong Liz is the perfect in between. The cover is a little confusing, I was thinking it would relate more to the story but still cute. I can’t wait to read the sequel. Liz, Wes, Michael, Laney, Alex, and Joss were exactly as you would picture them Liz, Wes and Michael being the typical love triangle. And Laney and Alex, in the middle of the drama without knowing. Joss the best friend who gets in fights with Liz and pushes her. It was really a typical book but it was a very good read.

This was really cute! I enjoyed the story and premise. I thought the love story was adorable. I do have to say the Liz did annoy me a tad bit. I mean she’s a teenager and she was going through things, but some of her actions were just annoying. I did think there was going to be more “movie” moments in this because of the cover, but I’m not mad there wasn’t because I hadn’t seen any of the movies mentioned which is crazy because I love rom cons. Oh I also loved how Liz’s relationship with her stepmother grew that was sweet. The ending made me tear up actually.

 Better than the movies

This is just cuteness overload. Liz and wes are neighbours, enemies, and co-conspirators in fake dating. They're also perfect together.

Our MCs bounce off each other really well, and I loved the mix of emotion and comedy. I was worried about it feeling too insta lovey since it's a 2 week time frame, but it didn't. Is it tropey, yes. But in the best way. I loved all the references to romcoms, and the idea that fate was throwing basketballs at her face was hilarious.

I felt that the grief over the loss of her mother was handled well, and I loved the development in her relationship with Helena.

I'm looking forward to the sequel. Honestly, I'm hoping its just them all cute and happy in college, maybe helping their friends get their love lives in order.
