The third and final book in the series felt pushed and dragged through to finishing line. I don’t mind fantasy in different time, social structure and political system, but this was pushing the line as I would suggest that around 95% of characters were gay/ lesbian/ bisexual with quite a few being transgender or they/them. When the Legs was referred as ‘them’ it was too much… Story it self was well written and followed some sense, but again some passages were very confusing and too slow.  i had few moments of -“ is it worth to continue “ , but after reading first  two books I felt I owed it to myself to finish it.

My heart hurts.  And at one point, I had to stop reading because I was crying.

What I found so enjoyable about this series is the fact that I really didn’t know what was going to happen next. My expectations were shattered and I absolutely love when that happens. I also love it when it makes me cry so much.

Either way, I highly recommend this series and I can’t wait to see what this author comes up with next.

I wish, wish, WISH I could give this finale 5 stars because it did indeed have me in tears by the end, but unfortunately we've run into the "third book in a fantasy trilogy turns into war and strategy talks" issue and those are a touch tedious to trudge through. Not quite a big enough issue to seriously knock my enjoyment of literally everything else in the book, thankfully.

I think where this series really shines is the character dynamics (and their individual interiority), and I'm so glad that the gang were (largely) back together for this one.

(Not penalising the book for this minor complaint because I'm sure it's less the author's fault and more an editor's/formatter's/publisher's, but there were a LOT of missing periods at the end of sentences? There were also a couple of instances of odd grammar/punctuation beyond that. Feels like it needed one final pass or was rushed to get it out.)
