John Green, John Green

It's so john green style. Not that as high as my expectation, but good enough to make me stay all night

One thing I didn’t enjoy was how Pudge looked at girls and his descriptions but other than that I really loved this book and the story. Alaska unfortunately suffered a lot but I’m glad that Pudge found a way to move on instead of getting consumed by guilt like Alaska did. One thing I wanted to know is: did Alaska’s dad treat her badly? Or was he depressed? Or she didn’t want to go home just bcuz It reminded her of what happened? She only said that her dad never blamed her after the one incident on the day of her mom’s death but never mentioned what he was like after. But overall it was a very good book.

i am alaska, alaska is me

My all-time favorite, go-to, travel companionship. I'd say it was my favorite if it was possible to choose between all John Green works. I'm definitely a fan. The story's authenticity makes me wonder why people don't write about raw and real things like these so often. At least why they don't do it this way. It's a John Green thing to make you feel sad about at least a couple of things that happen in his stories, but this contained (for me) a limitless amount of crying. The way he portrays everyone's feelings in a way that, even when mistakes are made you can sympathize with them just for being human. A tremendous job.

I read this book forever ago but it’s stayed with me! I’m sure reading it again now I’d have an even different perspective/ more takeaways. To me, this is a must read.

I am sure I read this years ago but didn't remember most of the plot. Fairly predictable but the growth and clever nature of the characters is just so endearing, even 20 years later.
