My first thought after finishing was "yikes". I really enjoyed this eerie story, especially

because a remorseless man gets his comeuppance and the women come out just fine in the end.

Ha, how many times does that happen in classic literature? (Not many).

Pushkin is just fun to read.

С текущим знанием языка, конечно, я могу всего лишь следить за сюжетом, едва успевая осознавать услышанное, тут не до стиля, так что о качестве перевода не могу сказать вообще ничего.
