Another of my fave Jodi P books.

Maybe its the holidays and traveling, extra working hours or just pure laziness...I keep picking up easy reads! As my vacation is only 6 days away I am allowing myself this guilt free , well almost =)

This was a really engaging book, with a lot of (accurate, I hope) information about the Amish. Some of the characters I couldn't relate to as well because they were so baby crazy and I'm not that way. Also, the ending was rather abrupt. Since this is my first Jodi Picoult, I don't know if the sudden, shocking ending is par for the course or if it's just this book.

I love to get my Picoult on! Such a riveting storyteller!
Complex situations, twists, great characters. This one's about a newborn infant found dead in an Amish community. I loved her portrayal of the Plain people.

A dead baby is found in a barn in Amish country. A young woman denies having a baby, but when she is examined by a doctor, it is clear that she has recently given birth. She is charged with its murder, and a trial ensues. I enjoyed the book until the end. I was disappointed at how the author wrapped up the story.

I couldn't put this book down!

Ellie, a Philadelphia defense attorney finds herself trying to help a distant Amish cousin who's accused of killing her premature baby. Ellie finds herself living (and working!)in an Amish farm and learning more about their lifestyle than she'd ever imagined. She also has to face her own baggage of failed relationships and her ticking biological clock.

There are some twists and turns and some courtroom time. I found it engaging and enlightening despite the tough topics.
