A great book! A bit slow at times but very interesting. The ending is a bit of a surprise, but fairly predictable, if that made any sense...

The Amish are fascinating and this story told much about their way of life. I figured out the end very early, yet still a fascinating read.
This is the only Jodi Picoult novel I’ve ever read, and first read it several years ago. I love that it’s a novel about the Amish that - for once - isn’t a romance.
There weren’t any characters that I absolutely loved, but there also weren’t any that I really hated. I understood them, mainly. I did find Katie to completely terrible at communication, but when you think about it, I suppose the Amish probably aren’t really taught how to communicate difficult feelings.
I remembered that everything was eventually revealed from my first reading, but I actually misremembered WHO was involved in that big reveal. Which is actually great, because if I forget enough details, it makes rereading fun all over again.

The first Jodi P. book that I read and I am so glad that I did. It started a great journey of reading books that make you think and I love the twist at the end of all of the stories.
I really enjoyed this one. I'd not read any of hers in awhile, because I think I was overdosing on all the drama that is typically in her stories. This one: I liked the story, the characters, I liked learning more about Amish life. It was interesting. Definitely a page turner.
I really liked this one, but not as much as some of her others. I guessed the ending, but I can see why others didn't like it. Still good story-telling.
