A great read. A courthouse drama, but Jodi adds some very interesting information about the Amish culture. It is fascinating to learn about, and in story form kept my interest.

I love almost all of Piccoult's books. I listen to them often while on trips. Her particular way of writing a fictional account of modern day happenings is amazing. She does much research into locations and the subjects she writes about. Love her.

Here's the thing: I first read this book over 15 years ago. I've had an inkling to go back and reread books that I loved when I was younger. Much to my surprise, I remembered EVERYTHING about this book. So, as a reading experience, it wasn't super enjoyable. That said, this held up far better than I would have guessed given the subject matter and time it was written in.
