I kinda want a sequel. Like what their life is like in the future.

This book was good, not great. I liked hearing the different perspectives of the kidnapped girls and the jump from “then” to “now” in the timeline. It was captivating simply because the story was so tragic, but it didn’t have a big twist or anything unexpected. It was hard to hear about what the girls went through, and was overall a good read.

I would say it's more 3.5 stars. I really enjoy psychological thrillers, but I am not sure if this was one. If you are looking for a fast paced, twisty psychological thriller, this isn't it. The 2/3 is rather slow, and the ending rushed.
A story of two victims, Ella and Sarah, of a serial rapist, that escape his captivity. It's told in alternative POV of both of these girls, in current and past times. It's very descriptive in it's abuse and grooming of victims, so please be warned.

A good book overall. I just feel like the end kind of was anticlimactic.
It was just like, “yeah, we caught him. And he finally confessed. He found some bodies and he swears those are the only ones. He won’t get the death penalty, he’ll just stay in prison for the rest of his life.” I was hoping it was more to him. I was half expecting a family with daughters and a wife and a dog. I was expecting to lead them to more bodies. I was expected him to had came from a terrible family or had a bad upbringing, some kind of background but we didn’t get that. But I was hoping more than anything that he was in fact releasing the girls after they left the house. It was so sad to think Ella and — no matter how much time she brought, Sarah was never going to make it and be free again.
Overall, I wish the ending was better, but still a solid book.

I thought this book was definitely entertaining, definitely read the trigger warnings though because it was disturbing and intense.
