I recently lost my father and my mother recommended this book. She warned me that it may piss me off in spots. It did. Normally I’d throw a book away and move on that I don’t like but I promised my mom I’d read it. Definitely not impressed and strongly disagree with authors advice in about 80% of book. Just not for me.

It is an emotional read, especially if you lost a parent or know that soon enough their death will come. A book I might give to some of my friends, and recommend to everyone.

I loved this idea. The content and art is great! The ending is just so sweet too. A really quick read - started and finished it at the park and the kids weren't even done playing! lol
I received this beautiful book as a gift after the passing of my mom. I ingested it slowly, reading just a few pages every day, taking the time to absorb the lessons and sentiments and reflect on how they presented in my relationship with my mother and apply, or can be applied, in my life. It was the perfect gift given at the perfect time for the perfect occasion and it offered much comfort and healing in a unique way. It is a book I’ll keep close to my hands and my heart always and will revisit often.

"Memories will come to you in waves, unbidden. Grief isn't the only byproduct of a death. And death isn't just subtraction. You're left with a treasure of memories that can be triggered by sights, sounds, smells - a record of how my life enriched yours."
I know coming into this book it was going to be emotional and heavy.
However, I love that there is a balance of humour, reflection, learning, emotion, love, anger and all.
What more knowing that this book is written by the mother of the illustrator.
It makes it even more special and emotional.
The illustrations are so beautiful. You don't want to miss every single detail.
With what the mother was writing, her advice, humour and thoughts and seeing the parallel of the illustrations are just beautiful.
We are all not ready when our parents, guardians or loved ones die.
There is no direct answer.
But in this book it makes us think, look back and be content and grateful with our life.
Highly recommends to everyone to read this baby, not for the answer of losing our mother but to understand and look at how we can and find different ways to grief and face death when the time comes.
"This bad patch will pass, just like the bad patches in the past and the ones that lie ahead. Passing clouds, all."

This book is an illustrated book that illustrates the mother’s wisdom to her daughter. It’s filled with tips, guides for her daughter to live well, from day 1 to 20000. There are also recipes that we can try in here. This book is a combination of sad & funny. I enjoyed reading it so much. But that doesn’t mean,we don’t learn anything from reading it. This book reminds us to show gratitude to the loved ones before they’re gone. It reminds us to appreciate every little things that happen around us. It reminds us to not ignore people around us that offers help. The grief is not the reason for us to stop living, instead,it’s the key to be stronger day by day. I feel like this book can be a great help when I need some humours & tips in life. Besides,it reminds me of my kind hearted mother, every mother on earth is such an angel. They treat us so well, tried their best to take care of us. So don’t forget,to thank them, hug them and show them you appreciate every single thing they did for you. Even a small effort will make her happy❤️. Don’t forget to be kind to your loved ones and people around you too!
