I wish it were from a Christian perspective. Otherwise I really enjoyed this quick read of recipes and self-care and motherly love and advice

I started it sobbing and I ended it bawling
I knew it was going to get to me and it was so beautiful

Suzy Hopkins is one very cool Elder - warm, funny and wise. If only we all have mums like her.
Her advice to her daughter about what to do if/when she dies - is so full of love. What moved me particularly are the later passages - which shows that her care for her daughter extends for decades, even when her daughter herself becomes old; and tinged with a hint of regret that she could not be there to witness her daughter growing older.
I don't love Hallie Bateman's art but it does add a particular punch to know that she is the daughter of the author.
