God, I really don't know how to rate manga... I think four stars is fair.

This was definitely a blast from the past for me! I haven't read this since high school, and even then I didn't make it very far. I'm hope to actually finish the series this time! I've already got the next three volumes on hold.

I will forever be in love with this original series. Inuyasha has always been my all time animes and while I have peaked at a few of the manga moments, I never have read the full series from start to finish. Nor have I done that with the show as of yet. I remember reading the first two comics, but after than I kind of skipped until the very end in order to learn how this series ended. At the time I was watching the series The Final Act was not yet out, and I had no way of knowing how it ended until I learned it was based on a comic series that was in English! The first two still remain my favorites just for the beautiful foundation and the funny moments that will send me into a spiral of laughters. I love teenage Sesshomaru, and you honestly see him depicted younger in this first novel and at some point he matures along the storyline, and I really love that touch. I will have to start the second one soon while I'm on this kick!

 4 stars.

My library added this recently, which was a huge surprise to me, but I couldn't be more thrilled! I am a fan of the anime and have rewatched it numerous times and have wondered for a while how the manga was. I truly enjoyed reading this. This was the first manga where I read where it was 3 volumes in one, so that was kind of intimidating, seeing this was over 500 pages long. Regardless, I loved this and I think I like Kagome more in the manga than in the anime. She seems stronger and less dependent on others. I also like her and Inuyasha's relationship a lot as well. I'm interesting in getting past where I am in the anime and seeing how the story officially ends.

It's a fun romp through some Japanese folklore and some things that seem to be purely Rumiko Takahashi invention. I grew up with her works and have always found them compelling and entertaining if you can disregard some of the manga staples of weird slightly sexist undercurrents.

OHHH MY GOODNESS THIS COLLECTION BRINGS ME BACK. Falling through time! Enemies to friends! Demon hunting! It’s all nostalgic for me. πŸ˜…πŸ™ˆ

I love InuYasha and Kagome as characters! I have no idea how to hunt down the rest of the series without dropping a untenable amount of money (if you happen to have the next 53 volumes in the series and you live in Kingston let me know 😏) but I adored reading this omnibus. Happy April! 🌸

Rumiko Takahashi has this magical power of creating worlds full of details, complicated characters and twists and turns in plots that always surprise you but at the same time, she fulfills all the expectations towards her work, expectations elevated by her beloved title "Ranma". And I must admit, I enjoyed "Ranma" a bit more, since it is something I am extremely sentimental of. "Inuyasha" is definitely much more serious and bloody series of her, but it doesn't lack humor. The story itself is more tragic and the time framework makes the whole story a bit harsher and more crude. I still enjoyed it a lot and definitely I am going to follow Inuyasha and Kagome's adventures (or at least some of them, there are almost 60 volumes of this title published...)

This book combines volumes 1-3.

It starts with Kagome being pulled into the sacred well that is on the family property (they live on temple grounds), releasing InuYasha in order to save herself and the villagers. It covers the battle with Yura of the hair all the way to the meeting of Kagome, InuYasha and Shippo.
