I really liked the main character Jake. I couldn't help but pull for him that he would get the answers that he (and really we all) wanted by the end of the book. A good book.

I think Coben has lost his touch. While I found the story compelling, I didn't find the suspense to be all that great nor did I find the story to be unpredictable.

This was my first book by Harlan Coben. I liked how this book kept me guessing and putting the puzzle together. I probably would have rated it higher but I found the authors first person style of writing annoying. Everytime Jake asked the reader a rhetorical question the value of this book went down.

A história é interessante mas a maneira em que todos os fatos caem no colo do protagonista, sem muito esforço, e como os “vilões” praticamente sentam e fazem toda a exposição do que eles querem, deixa o livro um pouco pobre.
I read this book because it was available. Another in my steady stream of mysteries that are ‘decent enough but not mind-blowing or anything’. A lot going on. A lot of repetitive rehashing and the MC asking himself 1000 questions in a row. At one point, the guy revisits a person who I guess there had been a scene with earlier but I had honestly zero recollection of it. Too much going on or me not paying attention? You decide. It’s fine but I will literally forget it by tonight.
