I love Ellen Hopkins. She can do no wrong in my eyes. This was a nice introduction for her books as a middle  schooler and I hope whoever reads it can find the solace that they need

OMG SO GOOD! Loved the emotional effect this book had on me. Loved the characters and was happy to read a book involving a girl who plays baseball. Best bol I have read!
