I read this book for the first time in eighth grade French class. Le Petit Prince, that title didn't mean much to me then, because I thought it would be a little kid's book and sighed as my teacher handed out copies. But then we started to read, and I was introduced to my very first allegory. I was amazed by this technique and the genius of explaining real life things masked behind a story a child could read and understand. This is truly and amazing book. I'm for sure going to read this to my kids when I get older.
O princípezinho sempre estará no meu coração.

this story is pure magic to me. it’s a perfect blend of whimsy, wisdom, but also heartache. it captures the beauty of seeing the world through a child’s eyes, the tragedy of losing that wonder as we grow older, and the quiet, profound lessons of love and grief. every page feels like both a dream and a truth you’ve always known but forgotten. it’s a tender story. it’s poetic, and endlessly rereadable. this book means everything to me, and i will carry its lessons in my heart forever <3
I used to think Le Petit Prince was just a children’s book—thin, full of pictures, with simple language. But once I actually read it, I realized it hits much deeper, especially for adults. Honestly, I feel like this book was truly meant for grown-ups, not kids. It’s like a gentle slap in the face, making you stop and think “When was the last time you saw the world through the eyes of a child?” What really stayed with me was how the little prince talks about love, loss, and what it means to have someone who “tames” you—someone who makes you feel connected and care deeply. The lesson from the fox is the one that struck me most: once you grow close to someone, they become unique, irreplaceable. And when they’re gone, the pain you feel is just another part of the love you shared. For me, Le Petit Prince is a reminder for all of us who have been swept away by the world of adulthood. It invites us to remember that the most important things in life can’t be seen with the eyes, they can only be felt with the heart. If you read this as a child, you might just think, “Oh, it’s a funny story.” But when you read it again as an adult, you realize it’s really a book about life, about losing people, and about holding on to the pure, childlike side of yourself so it never disappears.
