What a great story! A wonderful combining of the Christian story of Christmas and the history of Santa presented as Santa's autobiography. A bit outrageous at times but still a good read especially in the months leading up to the Christmas season.

Interesting facts and myths. If only Santa was really real. I guess he is in the heart of young children.

This was an awesome retelling of an old legend, that itself has probably been the subject of many different tales. Guinn's imaginative Autobiography of Santa Claus is an outstanding exemplar of the genre. And the fanciful way he brings in real historical figures and events is purely genius! I thoroughly enjoyed Guinn's work, and was touched by the mild way in which he taught some simple but important lessons about humanity along the way.

I had read this book previously, but my wife had not. On a long road trip to visit family, after finishing one audiobook, she chose this one to listen to next. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. The narrator, John Mayer, was outstanding.

For everyone's reference up front, I don't really enjoy cutesy Christmas books (except A Christmas Carol). The sap level it's too high, my eye rolls can't be contained, and I don't like the style.
Now this review will make sense to everyone.
Review: see above.

One of the best books I've read in a long time. Brought back the spirit of Christmas for me! I will for sure be handing this to my children when they start doubting. Very well done.

Frankly I was considerably less than impressed with "The Autobiography of Santa Claus." To me the entire book was one long name-dropping session with the occasional sentence bemoaning war. Oh look Santa met Attila the Hun but convinces him that war is wrong. Oh look Santa met King Arthur who is weary of war. Now Santa is friends with Saint Francis who agrees that "War, huh, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing!" song, just like Santa.

Seriously, the concept is cute, but the execution is poorly done.

I am classifying this as a children's book as it seems to simplistic to directed towards adults.

It’s cute. A little hokey at points but a cozy seasonal read. One all ages can enjoy again and again.

What could have been a charming tale became tedious and ridiculous.
The author tries to tie Santa with lots of historical figures that have not actually died like we thought.
Yes, I know it is fiction, but it is too far-fetched.
