This book is something completely out of my normal book reading habits and I think that is what had me so intrigued. I was hooked from page one. I was desperate to know more about Becks and this intriguing world KA Linde created. I can't wait for book 2 and to see what happens next.
Reyna was a freaking moron! She made one idiotic move after another. She may as well have begged Beckham to treat her like a whore! She threw herself at him, while he pushed her away (sometimes violently). He was rude and sullen, and then suddeny protective and sweet. And she would go from being fed up with his hot and cold, to all dreamy-eyed, swoony. It was pitiful!
Fun plot line to go with the hot and steamy scenes. Left you on a cliff-hanger, but luckily there's a second book already available to jump right into.
R/Fantasy Bingo Hard Mode: Bee Positive:
JESUS FUCKING CHRIST, IT TOOK 27 VAMPIRE BOOKS TO FIND B+ BLOOD CHARACTER. And we had to end on one of the worst ones I’ve ever read. I hate all the characters, they are all stupid. The plot twists are incredibly predictable and this is coming from someone who tries not to predict anything.
This felt like Dora the explorer while I scream at the TV screen cause they won’t just go the right direction.
Guy: I hate you go away
Girl: No, also oops, nearly died when trying to get your attention
Guy: saves her but I still hate you, go away
Girl: see this prove it you do love me. Why won’t you love me *throws herself back into the same fucking trap again*
Over and over again. For the ENTIRE BOOK. DOES THIS WOMAN HAVE OBJECT PERMANENCE?

Two words. Mind. Blown. It is really hard to articulate how this book hit me. It has honestly taken me days to actually write my review. The concept alone is something of sheer brilliance that I really could not put this book down. I devoured it. Then when the end came, I was devastated. I need the next one. Like stat!
I adore Reyna’s character. She is a fighter. She wants to help her family to survive and does so by the only way she knows how at the moment. The whole dystopian vibe of this was amazing. The descriptiveness that Linde has is beyond amazing. You really get the feel of seeing what she is writing and conveying. There were so many unique twists and turns that I was devouring it as fast as I could. Then you have Beckham. Brooding. Almost unapproachable. But there is just something about how protective he is of Reyna and how he acts around her. Their passion builds so much in this story. Then with all the events that occur and how it affects all of them, leaves your mind blown and jaw on the the floor!
Overall, this is one read you do NOT want to miss this year. It is very much going to be one of my top books of 2018. Linde has a brilliant mind and just a beautiful way with words that you cannot help but get wrapped up in the world she creates. Bring on book two. I need it. Like now!

Oh wow, color me intrigued! Vampires are my absolute favorite paranormal beings to read about, there's just something about them that's so alluring and erotic. And the new take on the vampire world had me completely hooked on Blood Type.
With K.A. Linde being one of the authors that I'll absolutely read anything from, I was more than elated once I heard she had a new paranormal series coming out. So I was definitely on board before even knowing what the series would be about. Just like Reyna, we're learning more about this world of being blood escort right alongside with her. She was very naive about the world she lived in, but she did what she could to stop being such a burden to her brothers. I completely admired how selfless she was and I was constantly rooting for someone to truly appreciate her for the person that she is.
And all eyes were staring right at the vampire extraordinaire that is Beckham Anderson. I'd like to describe him as a nice and cold, shiny rock. It was a mystery for a while about why he decided to take on Reyna as his blood escort, but she was definitely treated more like a paid roommate. Their conversations were little and there was no telling what he actually thought about her. However, some of his actions towards Reyna's whereabouts and well-being showed you that he actually cared more about her than we thought. But it just makes it hard for us to love him because he has this hot and cold persona going on. And it's quite the sight when he finally opens up to Reyna!
It's a bit of an action-packed journey as Reyna tries to figure out what the heck is going on in the world of being a blood escort. The cliffhanger is a killer, but I don't care. I'm completely invested in this series and can't wait to see how everything will end!

4.5 PERMANENT CROWNS
If you love paranormal romances, read this book. If you don't, read this book. Once again, this is not my genre. The last paranormal romance I read was Twilight, but I was certainly sucked into this world with its new order between humans and vampires. I was riveted to each page trying to figure out all the players and where their allegiance lies.
I haven’t been in love with a vampire hero this much in forever. It is like KA Linde took my favorite romance hero qualities and add the dangerous vampire component only to make him more alluring. I was thoroughly seduced by this man and everything he stands for.
Reyna is an interesting heroine. I didn’t always agree with her choices, but her characterization is solid and never falters. Like her, readers are stumbling through the new world, wondering who is which team, thing to learn the rules of the new world, and being seduced by the danger and allure of Beckham’s life.
One thing Blood Type will do is keep you in suspense. Everything from the relationship between Becks and Reyna to the edge Of your seat plot line with keep readers captivated, unwilling to walk away. The ending does leave readers hanging and waiting be torture, but I cannot wait to see how it all plays out.
I am not a fan of paranormal romances, but I found myself swept up in the romance anyway. I became captivated by this world, the characters, and the storyline.
I am already waiting for more.

Without giving too much away….Reyna feels like she has no other options left in terms of making money to help assist her and her two brothers, Brian and Drew. So she turns to Visage to become a blood escort. Even though she feels like doing this is the only way, she is still scared and a little hesitant because of how her brothers might react to the news. Vampires seem to be the more dominant/ superior species at the moment, while a huge chunk of the human population is poor and barely making enough to sustain themselves. There are quite a few prejudices between the humans and vampires. Each one seems to think they’re better than the other. And not many people want to help bridge the gap that divides them.
Reyna is the curious sort, she loves to ask questions and it’s hard for her to just sit back and no nothing when she believes someone needs help or some action needs to takes place.
Her life may seem like a fairytale once she gets a permanent position with Beckham Anderson, one of the top vampires at Visage, but appearances can oftentimes be deceiving. He is serious, very handsome, dedicated to his work, and hates people asking questions. Reyna coming into his life was not something he asked for, but he’ll make it work. They don’t make the greatest first impression though. Especially where Beckham is concerned…
“The only thing that was really very clear was that Beckham Anderson was a complete and total asshole.”
Okay what else do I have to say about Blood Type...Well I feel like no matter what I say I won’t be able to do this book review justice. This book too me by surprise. It felt like one of those drinks a bartender makes that is delicious from the first sip, but it doesn’t really hit you until you start to move.
I have read other books by K.A. Linde, but they were all contemporary romance stories with tons of angst and drama thrown in. Which I loved. But this book is a paranormal romance and I was a little skeptical. I should not have been. It was just the right read for me. Even if this is your first time venturing into the paranormal world, Blood Type would be a great place to start. The story was addicting. I could have finished the whole thing in 24 hours, but I dragged it out, just so I could make the story last a little bit longer. This book did end on a cliffhanger, but luckily book 2, Blood Match releases June 26, 2018!
