Clark was sweet in this but he is drawn as an ABSOLUTE unit in these comics. Generally gives hopeful vibes and warm feelings. I didn’t really like how the women (Lana/Lois) were written.

It lives up to the hype as a Superman comic. Each issue is narrated by a different character: Jonathan, Lois, Luthor, and Lana, with beautiful illustrations and a great, introspective depiction of Clark that, were to be used now, I firmly believe it’d garner far less appreciation than it did then, sadly.

Hey, let's write a Superman story that doesn't have all the epic Blockbuster destruction. Yeah, a grounded character work that explores his humanity through the eyes of those around him and could easily be adapted into a live-action film because he doesn't have too many scenes using his powers in incredible ways. Can we also get a look into Superman's universal struggles at feeling lost in the world by seeing how much people distrust him as Superman and abuse him as Clark Kent? Can we show him feeling isolated when he visits home as nobody recognizes him anymore as he has changed so much, despite Smallville remaining the same?

Hey, let's make the artwork simultaneous cheesy and so beautiful. I want the audience to feel the hope and warmth Superman radiates through a color pallet that radiates such feelings. But don't make it look too realistic because this is a comic. In fact, let's make it cartoony to avoid people empathizing and crying too much. Also... since we only have four issues to tell this story, we're going to need to jump around a lot. It's fine. Everyone know the gist of Superman history, so we can skip some important transitional periods that might make this story flow better. Oh, and Lex needs hair. Don't ask me why, just draw him with it. Gorgeous! Alright now publish this masterpiece! Thank you Jeph and Tim! We love you.
