I desperately need the second book.

Go figure my top book of 2023 would be the one that I put aside for a month after buying it. Shame on me.
Imo, this is an excellent example of how to write a book. I love the character development, the story, and honestly, even the tropes(which I'm sorry, soooooo many books lately rely entirely too much on tropes. We went from writing books that *happen to have them* to writing books that are nothing but them. It's irritating. But I digress.) were well done.
No spoilers from me, but I literally could not put this book down once I started it and managed to finish it in approximately 5.5 hours. Granted, I'm a relatively fast reader, but still. I have yet to devour a book the way I did this one.
The humor caused me to actually laugh aloud more times than I can count. It was well placed, but never so much that I felt it took away from the actual plot. You can tell the author truly took her time with this and made sure that everything fit.
My only complaint is that I have to wait till next year for the next one.

If you like books that are comically evil, please read this.

I really liked the plot. What really irked me was the narration. It's weird to have 2 POVs but still have it written in the third person with their thoughts italicized. It would have probably flowed better and faster if narration is in first person.

The ending was quite a twist for me, which I so appreciated. It was only then that I kind of woke up and really paid attention. I wish, though, that it hadn’t
been left on such a cliffhanger! Is there going to be a sequel????
