A very detailed account someone who worked the case. Insane.

A very interesting book, however, it is s very slow read. There is that much information to take in I found I needed to read it in small bursts rather than big doses. I thoroughly enjoyed it though.

i couldn’t stop picturing paul mccartney reading this and going what the fuck

It's a story I've heard about for years but didn't really know anything about it.  It's a long book and thankfully I did the audio version, but it was well told and an interesting read.

Vincent Bugliosi tells the story so well and listening to the story in 2024 it was amazing how they were able to solve the case back in the 60's.  No technology as we know of today and just the various police departments not communicating.

Absolutely fascinating. Prosecutor Bugliosi recounts the Manson investigation and trial in exquisite detail. I never knew that the only reason the trial was so long was because the defense attorney, Irving Kanarek, was know for being obstructionist. Kanarek made over 200 objections by day three of the trial! I felt sorry for everyone in the courtroom but especially Judge Older. I read the updated 1994 edition which had a little bit of "where are they now" at the end which in 2022 is still far out of date but it gave a little bit of closure that at least some of the Manson "family", at least the ones who weren't killers, were able to move forward and have "normal" lives.
