I can say that I did not know whole story of Manson prior to reading this book and now I know more details than I could have imagined. I really enjoyed getting to experience this story like it unfolded in real life. Starts with the crimes then how they got to the place of finding out Manson’s involvement then onto the trial. The trial was such a circus. They were all batsh*t and it was like a train wreck you couldn’t look away from. While extremely sad what happened to the victims, I thought this was a great true crime book and would recommend to others to read.

If you’re into true crime and the Manson family this book is a must read. Written by the lead prosecutor of the Manson Four for the Tate-LaBianca murders it takes a deep dive into the events of late ‘69-‘70. It focuses heavily on the trial, so if you want more of the murder maybe not for you (though it is certainly mentioned in copious amounts). Personally I loved it. Written in such a way that I was anxious to see Manson and crew convicted even though historically I knew the outcome

My obsession with true crime and love for the criminal trial process and corresponding investigation and trial strategy were thoroughly satisfied in this book. It is fascinating to hear it from someone involved in one of the weirdest and most famous criminal trials in history. Even if you aren't fascinated with trial strategy, the insights into Manson's strange beliefs and almost hypontic leadership were gripping. This was a long book, but I was never bored.

couldn’t put it down, it left me reeling

This was an extremely interesting book with more revelations of the crimes, committed by Charles Manson and The Family; including Bugliosi’s personal encounters with members of The Family. It was much better and much more informative than any crime documentary I have watched.

RIP Vincent Buglioso
