It was really slow at the beginning but it then started to pick up but after that it was really good but so emotionally draining. At some points it was difficult to even read. Overall, it was an amazing book. Colleen Hoover is a beautiful writer and her books make me cry so she is doing something right.

Hopeless wrecked me in the best way possible. Colleen Hoover has such a gift for pulling every emotion out of you, and this story was no exception. Sky and Holder’s journey was heartbreaking, beautiful, and full of unexpected twists that kept me glued to the pages.
The romance was tender yet intense, and the raw honesty in the writing made it feel so real. There were moments that broke me, but also moments that healed me, and by the end I was left completely breathless.

This is a very tough book to rate. Parts of it were so touching they had me sobbing, so philosophical they really got me thinking. But other huge chunks of it were so overdone, cheesy almost. It was sort of like looking for a needle in a haystack. I felt like it was really written for a younger audience, for whom more of the ideas/insights might be revelations. Ugh, I'm sure this review isn't going to help anyone decide! I'm giving it three stars, but also considering buying a hard copy for my teenage daughter to read, and I'd bet she'd give it at least 4 stars.
