This book started me on Shakespeare. I really enjoyed it and have since read several more Shakespearean plays.

So I had to read this for English Class, and my Dad and my Sister both said to me: You will hate it. However, this was without a doubt the best love story i have ever read.

I never before really liked reading Shakespeare, even though all of my english teachers before had said" "but you see, he tells so many dirty jokes, how can you not like it" and my answer to that was always, "Yeah, but i never GET them," However. in this book, i really do get them. This book was funny and romantic and sweet and suspenseful, if only you take the time to look deep enough.

I don't believe in fate, and i most definitely do not believe in love at first sight, however, this book made me believe that in the story, both exist. I think that it was amazingly simple, and that is what made me believe that it really did exist.

I love reading plays because you're only really hearing the dialogue. In my class, my teacher always told us to "look for the subtext" because of course. there could be alot of sarcasm, and you would never know, if you weren't looking deep enough.

So basically, this book was without a doubt the best tragedy and the best romance book that i have ever read. It made me want to read even more Shakespeare. I love this book.

I finally found time to reread "Romeo & Juliet". I first read it about 8 years ago and back then I always had the feeling of needing to roll my eyes at Romeo's incredible fickleness and Juliet's greenness.

8 years later I realize it's really not the point.
This is about tremendously deep feelings and of course the naming and shaming of hatred and violence which can easily destroy even the strongest lovers.
The topic still feels relevant 500 years later.

It was a pleasant second read after all.

Romeo and Juliet jumped so fast to the conclusion that they are in love and that this is love, that I simply adore how delusional this is. If only in 21st century we could jump to the same conclusions, perhaps life would be simpler

I couldn’t find anything likeable in this story. The writing style was so hard to get through, and the story didn’t make too much sense. I don’t understand how someone can actually understand anything out of this
