slow-paced
This was a good book that gave readers a basic framework for completing their goals. It was very repetitive explanation of why people should focus on the long haul and that there are no quick fixes to a good life.
I despise books that read like an infomercial trying to sell you the very book you're already reading. Does this book have some good tips? Sure...but it could be explained in a few bullet points in a PowerPoint presentation.

This one is good because the concept is simple and easy to implement. I have to be in the mood to read books like this though. The style of men like this who write these can sometimes be grating. They like to tell you how great they are and gloss over exactly how they became so great. Some of his examples and things he points out are a little judgemental too in my opinion. But the overall concept is a good one and one that you don’t really need to read the entire book to grasp. Take tiny steps towards your objectives each day, and keep it going especially in the beginning when you aren’t seeing results. Over time good effort does pay off but it does not happen as quickly as we might like and many ppl give up before they get there. It’s a good reminder even if the book is cheesy at points. He also really needs to credit more women for their achievements in this. He talks about the Harvard class on happiness started by Dr Laurie Santos but does not mention her by name. But he never forgets to credit the men.
Honestly the best self help book I have ever read. I encourage anyone who is wanting to live a successful and fulfilling life to read this!
What is the most powerful thing in the world?
Money, fame, happiness?
It's "The Choice".
The choice that you make every day.
The choice that you make every hour.
The choice that you make every minute.
The choice that you make every instant. Right now!
The choice that you are making every second shows you the path that you are on right now.
And if you are on a journey towards positive, healthy, success, and towards financial freedom then you are on the path of glory, if not the choices that you are making might not kill you now, might not kill you tomorrow, or not even in a year. But compounded over time will kill you after some 20 years.
This is the book that makes all other self-help books make sense.
Understand that success is never an overnight phenomenon that happens at some divine time.
Success is a hard and tenuous journey, Success is not a destination.
The author does not put anything new or innovative idea in this book. He establishes the truth which in its simplicity is so revolutionary.
The slight edge is not a destination, its a way of life. It's a philosophy.
And when you imbibe the slight edge attribute then you are on a path of greatness and mastery.
The author beautifully describes the philosophy of slight edge and makes the reader understand what it takes to be successful in life.
Now that I have read the book, it has opened up my eyes to the inevitable truth which was staring back at me my whole life.
I have started using the slight edge philosophy to better my finances, relationships, health, and happiness.
And I can say that I have only started. I have got a long path to go and learning can never stop.
A must-read for all age groups which helps one realize the path we have to take in life.
And this boos also has readers insightful stories who with slight edge philosophy achieved success in their lives.

I was recommended this book as part of a program I was doing. Let me say this: the slight edge DOES work.
Small steps daily do get you to where you need to be. Small steps taken are the difference in continuing to move forward and eventually find your footing, and collapsing in with self-doubt and fear. I do, very much, agree with the principle.
The book, however, (and often the author) were a bit much. It was easily 100 pages too long. The author (though TRYING to relate) was very much coming from a rich, white man perspective. That made reading it often cringe inducing.
Do I recommend it? Sure. I listened to it in bite sized pieces (a chapter a day, only on work days, while I got ready for work.) I also listened to it on 1.5x speed. God speed, friends. Good luck.

This took me forever to get through. The first part of the book get very repetitive and was a lot of stuff I’ve already heard. It wasn’t till the second part of the book that I really started enjoying it and picked up some new things.
Really loved the things he taught in his book. Most points weren’t new to me, and it actually reminded me a lot of The Compound Effect by Darrin Hardy. There were some points that I though Jeff Olson explained very well and I underlined quite a few lines in some chapters. Glad I read it :) and will refer back to it. Love the power of small and simple things!
Sehr inspirierend! Ein Motivationsbuch das weitere überflüssig macht.
