I love Laura Thalassa’s writing. And somehow, she’s made me fall in love with a man named Memnom - that’s how good she is.

🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: Laura Thalassa’s ability to make me question my sanity and fall in love with a morally gray - really almost black - male main character is seriously impressive.

I loved the first book in this series, and the second book was an incredible ride. Selene grows into herself and her power. Memnom spends a ton of time groveling. There’s a ton of action, some absolutely delicious spice… just the complete package.

I’m sad thinking about the wait before the third and final book… I’m not looking forward to the ending, but I am looking forward to seeing how she wraps all of this up.

🪄 𝗙𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘆 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝗲: Easy. This is mostly witch and shifter based, so it’s easy to follow and the world is modern.

After finding the first book a little irritating, I was hoping this book would pick up a little. And in some ways, it was a bit better. The world building and mystery were great; I loved reading about Roxi and Memnon in their past life, and how it collided with Selene in her current life.

My biggest problem with this whole book was that most of the problems were very childish. The "love triangle" just needed her to communicate that she wasn't interested. Reading Selene with another person also made me very uncomfortable because she was clearly not interested in anyone else. Everytime Selene was hurt was because she opted to go out despite knowing it was dangerous. And whilst out, she mixed in alcohol as well, because who cares that the people surrounding her are likely trying to capture her? Then, the culmination

where they get captured but they opt not to kill them, despite knowing Memnon is ridiculously powerful.

It was just a little exhausting that the plot was only a plot because Selene was TSTL.

Bespelled by Laura Thalassa is a paranormal romance. I have been waiting for this sequel since I read Book 1. Laura Thalassa truly is a very talented author who can pour magic into her work. The plot is intriguing and keeps you up at night wondering what is going to happen next. I am not one to write fluffy reviews so when I say all this I truly mean I stayed up all night reading this.

Selene is starting to adjust to Memnon. Of course as with all books this means there is going to be a shake up. Memnon wouldn’t be the morally grey character he is without a little shaking of his own. Just when you think they are even ground the cliffhanger re appears.

I can not wait to see what else Laura Thalassa has in store. I really enjoyed this book and will be waiting with anticipation for the next.
