I know there are many readers that disliked this book, but I happened to love it. Very thought provoking and difficult to read at times, but kept me glued to the edge of my seat from page one wondering what would happen at the end. This type of book is not for everyone as it is pretty twisted and dark at times, but I love books where you don’t really know which character to side with. Great book and will probably be checking out more by this author!

Friend-selected book, courtesy of Jen "The Jenerator", who has never led me astray. Also, my book club book for April, back from the good old days when we could do things like "plan to have book club ever again."

THIS WAS SO CREEPY. I loved how it yanked you back and forth psychologically—I found myself thinking about it when I wasn't reading, trying to rationalize the behavior of the mother and the daughter both. There's so many layers to this story and to the characters it's impossible to get to the bottom of the problem (the super evil child) in an easy or satisfying way, and I love that from a book. Definitely kept me on the edge of my seat.

This book was chillingly terrifying. How scary to be afraid of your own child and to have your child be that meticulously violent at such a young age? This was a whole different type of thriller for me! This was a good thrill but I did feel like the author gave so many details about things that didn’t matter much so I found myself skimming some pages.

I also didn’t love how she had the child in the story day such sexually mature things. I realize it was part of explaining what was going on but it just felt wrong?

Bruh I Officially Have Chills Right Now
When I Went Into This Book I Had A lot Of Expectations Like Most People Do When They Read A Book
But Did It Hold Up Their End Of Bargain ??
Well And Yes And No And Imma Explain What I Mean By That
I Mean Yes The Plot Sounded Evil And Malicious And Just Plain Wicked And While It Lived Up To That End Of The Hype And My Expectations Which I Appreciated A lot
On The Other Hand Though
The Writing Wasn´t The Best I Have Ever Read In The World Not Shakespeare Or Hawthorne Potential But It Was Still Kinda Decent For A Psychological Horror Suspense Novel
But I Really Couldn´t Sympathize With Suzette As A Character Because All She Kinda Did Was Complain A lot And It Kinda Annoyed Me And Made Me Wanna Punch Her Through The Screen
This Book Was A Solid Debut But Not My Fave Sorry
dark tense

Very interesting

The book pages turn themselves. I'm not totally satisfied with how the book ended, but it lets you imagine what will happen next.
