Loved this conclusion to an epic series with loads of interesting politics and so many big reveals/twists in this book. There is a huge twist after 2/3rd of the book that I did not expect at all. Keva Lagos and her mother in the same book? Yes please. I want more books on Keva Lagos as she is my most favorite character from this series. She is such a kickass woman. And Natashe is a great villain character too. I am kind of sad that this series had to end. This series is better heard than read, thanks to the wonderful narration by Will Wheaton.

This is the final book in a trilogy and the author had a lot to wrap up, so it’s not surprising it felt a little… rushed? Crammed?The death of Cardenia/Grayland II was a surprise; I suspected she was going to do something with her knowledge about the Memory Room and Rachela I, but somehow I didn’t think it would be that. And Marce heading off to Earth, or at least, Earth’s system? Another surprise. While I understand the political machinations and personal stories were the main focus of the books, I would have liked a bit more attention to what Marce was discovering about the Flow, the Shoals, and the Evanescences beside just “it’s mathematics—lots of complicated math”.
A mostly satisfying conclusion to the trilogy; Scalzi’s prose is always fun to read., and he created some memorable characters who will stick with me for a while.

Loved the series, great characters and good humor. Book 3 was a good conclusion, but it a bit short. Really only 200 pages of new material here, rather lengthy intro of 50 pages was largely a review of the first two books. Would have liked more than one chapter with the two (kind of) AI's Jiyi and Chenevert getting to know each other.
