The tension could be cut with a knife, basically from the beginning. despite you having no idea what was going on until maybe the last 50 pages.

Well written and compelling, Definitely makes you wonder at the end......

I was gonna give it 3 stars because I think it can be rounded up from 2.5 . But then I read the liner notes at the end of the book and gave it 2. “if the reader has failed the books empathy test” let’s calm down Bladerunner

the way tremblay writes his characters and monologues is absolutely beautiful… i could quote the parts i loved and it would be the entire second half of the book. the final page is enough to punch me right in the gut. just fantastic and i need to look into more of his writing

WAAAAAAAAHHHHH i was not expecting this book to effect me so much. which is crazy considering natural disaster/end of the world horror is some of the only horror that actually gets to me. aside from all that stressing me the hell out, the family dynamic of andrew, eric, and wen was so beautiful and almost got me crying at the end. i have so many feelings about this book that i can't get into for fear of spoiling. i loved it. mr tremblay you killed it.

This is my first Paul Tremblay novel, and it definitely will not be my last. The characters are extremely well-written, and I really enjoyed Tremblay's writing style and how it seemed to shift as the narrative went on. I didn't love one of the character deaths, and not having answers for all of my questions, but that's just a personal thing. I understand the significance of it regardless.
