Kaiden's POV was so dark and funny

After more than a year after finishing the third installment in the Sweet trilogy, I opened this book with lots of doubts. It's rare for me to enjoy the hero's POV after reading the girl's one, may it be because long sections get cut, for the lack of dialogue, or mainly because of the change of perspective that makes me love him less.

Anyway, I really enjoyed "Sweet Temptation." I especially liked discovering how hard it was for Kaidan to restrain himself. How strong his pull toward Anna was. It's not something that come through clearly during the trilogy, but holy bananas if he's not having a hard time keeping his hands for himself in this novel.

Anyway, it was nice to see lots of the scenes from his POV also because I'd forgotten about a lot of them and the refresh came in the nice packet of a sweet, but sexy mind in an equally yummy box that his Kaidan Rowe.

The only complain is the eclipsing of certain scenes. Especially in the last two books, the author collasped lots of scenes with short non-dialogue retelling, effectively cutting down entire chapters. Given the fact that these last two books were my favorite, I would have liked to see a little less of "how things started" and a lot more of "how things eventually went."

We don't get lots of brand-new scenes but the fact is that there were so many from the trilogy that it would have been counterproductive to add others.

Another nice surprise was Kaidan's relationship with his father. You'll understand it when you read it.

In conclusion, I'm very glad to have had the courage to give it a try. Kaidan's mind is a sultry, heated, twisted place. His feelings clash with his determination to keep Anna safe and even when they are apart, you can taste his love for her in every sentence.
The style is appropriate for the character, but I didn't find it as extreme as the author had preventived in one of the interviews. It was a nice recap of the whole story, proving that it could have been squeezed in a single volume, even though some sections really lost part of their appeal.

So, I would definitely reccommend it, with the only warning not to expect every part of the original story to be in it and be prepared to see a couple of your favorite scenes reduced to the bone. Dialogues are frequent and the plot is strictly attached to the official one, but of course many scenes are only retold in quick recaps.

This just makes me love Kai more!! I read it all in one night I was so interested in each page. To read how he felt when Anna was at Blake's house and that Bikini stripper bit. OMG!! Love him!!!

Love it, love it, love it! The story from Kai's point of view gives it that special edge to make it more spectacular. Well done!

This is from Kaidon's POV, summing up the three previous book. Is it a must read? No, it didn't add much more to the storyline or expanded anything. I really wanted and expected more from this book. I read the trilogy back to back, so when I got to this everything was still pretty fresh on my mind. Things did get boring and repetitive. If I hadn't read this novel so soon after I think I would have enjoyed it more.

Even though this fourth book in the series is kind of a shortened repeat of the story it’s nice to read the same story from Kaiden’s point of view. And I totally love him!! It was nice to see the story unfold from Kaiden’s point of view. To see the bad boy’s insecurities and vulnerability and how fiercely he loves Anna.

Was this necessary? Definitely not.

Did it add anything new? Not at all.

I remember loving the series so I was really excited to read it from Kayden's POV. It could've been cool, adding another layer of depth... where this story excels is at being a teen girl's wet dream over a brooding hot guy who is just obsessed with the girl, just cuz. It's a complete fan-girl piece swooning over how dreamy Kayden is.... even though it's from his POV!

This book might be best enjoyed right after finishing the others. It's been a bit for me and I kinda remembered the plot from the others, but I also felt kind of lost. TBF, to her credit, Wendy says this is not intended to be a standalone and that it's more of a companion. But my biggest problem was that the whole plot was reactionary and revolved (still) around Anna.

I also didn't enjoy how jealousy was praised. Basically if Anna was jealous it was proof that she really loved him. Kayden is a bit possessive and overbearing which is romanticized...and I'm very sick of that in YA.

Read this if you just finished the series and loved it, but don't expect anything like the previous three.
Overall, I didn't like it.
