I liked how it seemed to be just another glimpse into their lives. They weren’t together at this point, tying into the open-ended finale of Normal People. They were simply existing the way they always do

read this because i love ‘Normal People’ and needed to see my girls again. someone said it was like an epilogue, but considering this came before it doesn’t feel like that at all. trying to image this coming after the events of the novel doesn’t feel right, none the less i can still see how the connell & marianne i know and love were developed from these characters and this story and it’s always so interesting to me (as a wanna be writer) to see how the books i love came to be. i have many a first draft stories that start out COMPLETELY different to the end product so i LOVED this !!

Wow, another great one by my Queen Sally Rooney! I relate to Marianne, that unrequited love that hurts, and how she is willing to appreciate crumbs from Connell just because she'd rather have something than nothing, ugh. I wanted to cry for her. Connell seems to slowly realize that he feels something other than sexual intimacy for her through the stroy, and it left me having a form of hope for them as a couple, despite not wanting Marianne to take him after all the years of being sidelined. I have so much more I could say about this 10 page story, its wild. Thats just what Sally awakens in me haha.

Jesam propustila taj memo?)

Iskreno, Conversations with Friends mi i dalje ostaju najbolji, kao i kratka priča [b:Concord 34|50739397|Concord 34|Sally Rooney|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1560628183l/50739397._SX50_SY75_.jpg|71311992].

i wanted to read the beginnings of sally rooney’s journey of these characters and honestly it’s a wonderful starting point. seeing how she developed connell and marianne into the characters we know today is so cool; seeing what she kept with our two characters and what she didn’t. i saw people say that this would make a wonderful epilogue to the book and it would… if you hate optimism and happy endings????

i don’t know, the way the book ended i just cant ever see marianne and connell reverting to these ways again, all i’ll say is there’s a reason why the book doesn’t have/need an epilogue and why this the beginning of sally’s journey of what would later become normal people.
