This was a beautifully written, super compelling love story. It doesn’t matter if you already know how this ends; the author’s retelling of the story is worth it on its own.

My only complaint is that I found some of the plot in the middle of the book to be a bit slow. Not bad, but just not as urgently all-consuming as the rest of it.

1000% worth the read. Excellent queer representation.

“He is half of my soul, as the poets say”
I loved this book. I surprisingly did not cry as much as I thought I would. I loved the telling of them growing up together and while I understand Patroclus was told to have been a brave fighter I still liked the perspective of him being a healer and a more sensitive person. With Patroclus wanting to save Briseis and the Greeks.
The ending pulled on my heart strings and I felt terrible for Achilles.
This book was beautifully written and the author was very poetic with the writing.

Miller expertly brought Greek mythology back to life in modern writing with all the gut-wrenching, heart breaking emotions and sacrifices it takes to be remembered throughout history.
