As self-help books go, this was pretty helpful. Discusses the inner monologue most of us have, which both benefits and hinders us day to day.
Gives the rationale behind logical steps we can take to harness our inner voice and lead our rumination in more constructive directions.
Doesn't over-promise, and although there is a good amount of explanation, the advice focuses on the practical (as evidenced by the toolkit at the back.)

Useful tips for dealing with a negative inner dialogue, including thinking about yourself in the third person, looking at plants / trees / nature, and journaling. I’ve started incorporating the tips intentionally and I think it has improved my mental health!

This book contained a lot of research that surprised me and felt “new”, which is kind of rare since I read so many books on similar topics. The last chapter summed up all the techniques, which was very helpful and set me up to take action. I recommend this to anyone whose internal voice tends to hold them back.

Listened to it, but couldn't give it my full attention. Very distracted throughout, a bit ironic. Distant self talk was interesting
i really love this book and the way it presents the information. the mix of tools & anecdotes/research about these different topics really helped me to understand what was being presented. the toolbox at the end to summarize and help you create your own habits to reduce chatter is definitely something i'll be using going forward
I found this book a very intriguing read. It was written in a digestible way and made it easy to understand. The tips at the end were helpful and easy to follow, allowing me to think more about my thoughts, my relationships and the environments I am in and how to better them to be my best self.
