Really great research-based book about how to think about the voice inside our heads. As someone that often has an anxious stream of consciousness, I got a lot of great tools in managing that voice.

Ethan Kross offers practical tools grounded in science for navigating that inner noise so many of us deal with. What stood out most to me was the idea of “invisible support,” those quiet forms of help that don’t call attention to themselves but make a huge difference.
If your mind ever feels too loud, this book is a guide to help turn the volume down.

About the 'voice' in your head and how that (negatively) affects your life. Based on scientific research, with a touch of a self-help. Subject seems very promising, but the definition of 'chatter' is very broad according to the author. Young gays who have trouble coming out? Must be chatter. Hostages threatening to execute people? Chatter. I feel uncomfortable by this reduction of complicated matters to broad blanket statements and simple solutions. Life is more complex than that.

Is chatter. Gijzelaars die dreigen mensen te executeren? Chatter.
