I enjoyed this book, but could predict the ending, and it made me sad. It’s like marching on and on to sadness. I loved the character of Lucrezia and how bright she shone. This is both beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time.

I love the poem My Last Duchess and so I was incredibly excited to read this. It did not disappoint at all! It was so well written between the shifts in time and I felt so emotionally invested in the Duchess’ journey! Her feisty character and perspective of the world were fascinating. An excellent book.

Love how the author pulls a historical fact and makes a whole novel out of it. Very cool. The book itself felt slow at times. Like there was this looming tension that you were waiting for something big to happen. You just have to wait a while for the climax to come, but it is good.
