This book was a painfully dull trudge to its conclusion. Predictable and superficial.

I found this book to be a very light touch and easy read. Like many other reviewers, I picked this up through the Big Library Read, and it wasn’t something I would have normally been drawn too. I found some elements of the book to be problematic, as others have mentioned, particularly the lack of self reflection on the siblings for their own crimes, and the never-really-explained relationship (or lack of) between the Protagonist, Natalie, and her mother.
That said, I read it quickly and without feeling much resentment. The book references drug use and domestic violence, so is more appropriate for readers 16+

Extremely disappointing. I saw that this was a “Library Big Read” and expected it to be good. It was just irritating. Just read all of the other low reviews. They are all accurate.
