- I also love a book set in my beloved DC: we aren't generally thought of as a romantic town, so I very much enjoy seeing characters visit shops and neighborhoods I love in a romance novel.
- Okay though, here's my issue with this book. Dean is basically actively searching for a nonromantic relationship. There's even a conversation near the beginning when he's quite sharp about how not everyone is "wired for romance." It's a perfect setup for having an aromantic hero. And...nothing. It's not quite "you just haven't found The One," but Solange definitely makes him change his mind about romance. It didn't put me off the book but was a bit frustrating.

The fake dating trope is always interesting and this one had a couple curve balls that made it even more so. I like how opposite Dean and Solange we're in many ways.
I felt like there were a couple scenes thrown in that were only there for shock value, but other than that enjoyed the book.
I especially liked how both Dean and Solange we're on a journey of self discovery and eventually figured out the next steps for their lives.
I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley. This is my honest review.

I LOVE Mia Sosa's books. This is the second one I've read and I can say with conviction that she's one of my favourite romance writers.
This book was such a spectacular follow-up to The Worst Best Man. I loved seeing the characters from the previous book pop up here and there. But more so I loved Solange and Dean. Their slow build friendship into romance through their fake dating charade was so natural and easy. I loved that their mutual honesty and understanding of each other was the foundation to their partnership, friendship and eventual relationship.
The physical chemistry was also chefs kiss. Absolutely spectacular smut.
I loved the family dynamics, the full family bonding that happens, and just literally everything. I got nothing else to say except garbled excited noises.

I was super excited to hear Mia Sosa was giving Dean a book after reading The Worst Best Man. I love his quiet vibe and what a good friend he was to Max in that book. The fact that his romance was with one of Lina's cousins, Solange, made me want to read The Wedding Crasher even more. I knew their story would be special. I was right. I absolutely adored it.
Dean was a buttoned up, plan for everything type of guy. He had no time for romance. Solange was a fly by the seat of her pants type of gal who wasn't exactly throwing her heart around either. Both grew up in single mother households that shaped their views on love and marriage. Neither of them planned on love or marriage, so a little fake dating wasn't going to cause any problems. Or it wasn't until Dean and Solange fit perfectly into each other's lives.
I loved everything about The Wedding Crasher. The opening wedding scene pulled me into the story quickly. The crazy situations Dean and Solange found themselves in as they faked a relationship propelled the story forward in the best way. The more they got to know and like each other, the more I swooned over them as a fake and soon to be real couple. Their chemistry was off the charts -- like The Worst Best Men times 10, so be prepared. (The illustrated cover might trick some. This book is STEAMY.) I absolutely adored Dean and Solange together. I could have read another 100 pages about their relationship.
What made this book even better was the cast of characters helping Dean and Solange along. Dean had Max supporting him. He also had some work people who added to the fun of things. Solange had Lina and the rest of her family. The tias and cousins shined just as bright, if not brighter than, the first book. I loved their involvement.
If you can't tell from all of this blubbering, I adored The Wedding Crasher. The Worst Best Men might have introduced me to Mia Sosa's writing and had me curious about her other books, but The Wedding Crasher cemented her as a new to me favorite author of 2022. I can't wait to read more of her books.
CW: voyeurism (Read Chapter 14, if too much then skip Chapter 15 is the advice I would give.)
