This book was unexpectedly endearing. Unlike most other danmeis that I've read, this was more lighthearted and sometimes even funny. There were times when I found myself laughing out loud at the antics of the characters here.
However, I did not feel the romance in this book. It takes a while for the readers to realize who the ML actually is, but even once that is established, there is little to no romantic interaction between the two leads. So much so that even by the end I was left dissatisfied and a bit unsure about the extent of their feelings towards each other.
The story was more of two characters living their lives, rather than two people falling head over heels for each other (which is what I've come to love about danmeis). There were a lot of unanswered questions too, that just added to my confusion about who feels what for who.

I read this because I heard the rumors that Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms plagiarized this book. I mean, I can see a little bit of similarities in some aspects but I don’t know, I’m not really sure. But anyway, it was a cute story but not of best quality in terms of plots and the depth of characters. Also a big issue with the pacing, the first arc seems like it’s stretching too much unnecessarily which was quite frustrating. But it was quite touching and beautiful near the end. So, I gave a 3 stars.

i’m really sad that i didn’t enjoy this one. in fact i had to force myself to finish it 😭. i think my main issue was i had no clue who the actual love interest was until the book was almost finished and even then i really didn’t find the romance all that compelling. i also thought the plot was kind of wild and unpredictable but not in a good way. this might work for some people but unfortunately i am i not one of them. i do own the authors other book so hopefully i’ll have more luck with that one, fingers crossed
