The translation was certainly a choice, so I'm curious to know how it was read in Chinese. It was hard to tell who the main couple was until after the halfway point, I didn't know who I was suppose to be rooting for. The last few chapters were definitely better than the rest of the novel and I wish we found out what happened to the fox.

I don't really know what to think of this story. I enjoyed it, I liked the characters, and the first half went by really fast. I felt like the second half just dragged for me. The part where Tianshu and Hengwen were kids was weird to me?? Like I get it, they're immortal, it's just their form, but still. They were playing and acting like kids. The reincarnation as animals was fast and also odd. But overall, a happy ending.

I really liked this one. It was very funny and sweet. I don't think I 100% understood the "this immortal lord" thing but it made me laugh and I loved how the author sort of slowly let you in on just how infatuated Song Yao was with his love. This was one of the easier and faster danmei I've read and I was glad it was all in one volume as well. I'm really looking forward to receiving my copy of The Imperial Uncle now that I've read this book. I'm also going to put the little chibi figurines I received with the book in a place of honor among my collectibles shelf.
Anway, if you want a fairly lighthearted, low angst, all-in-one book danmei - this is the book for you. Highly recommend.
