This was an interesting book and I appreciated and enjoyed the different perspectives on interracial dating and how people deal with prejudice, but I wanted more out of it. It seemed like there should have been a lot more regarding the relationship and I feel that the reader is sort of cheated out of some of the expected scenes that should have happened before the ending. Many who are reading this with me say that this has a type of "Romeo and Juliet" quality about it, but I think that the comparison is a weak one.

A nice middle-grade romance story. The main characters are 15, but it felt like the target audience was 11. It delves deeply into romance and modern racism, but with a gentle touch.
I’m not the target audience, but I’m glad this book exists.

A really beautiful book about young love - with some great (and important) conversations about racism, prejudice, identity, friendship, and family dynamics.

This was a beautiful well-written book. If you feel nothing when reading it you have no business being a person.
I enjoyed this while reading but it probably won't stick with me for long.
