I picked this book based on the cover imagery and the brief synopsis on the inside flap of the dust jacket, without even realizing that I had the author's previous Golden Spoon and enjoyed it.

This one is a quick read that maintained my interest because I was in the mood for something light and breezy. Not a thriller in the traditional sense, unrealistic and eye-roll-enducing in parts but also feels low stakes. That being said, there's the obligatory murder, violence, gaslighting, and all the tropes, but somehow, I didn't mind that too much. Snappy writing; overall, a yes from me.

Won this book after entering a Storygraph giveaway. I enjoyed the short chapters and how the author told the main character’s past via flashback through the advice column letters.

Overall, I found the book to be intriguing at times, and drawn out at all other times. The ending involved a bit of a twist. I liked the author’s concept for this book and would categorize it as an easy, mystery that doesn’t require a ton of commitment to enjoy.

I think I've developed a bias against prologues in mystery books. I have yet to have one enchance my reading expirence, but at least this one didn't spoil the ending.

Howard was too much of a red haring from jump. I didn’t  buy that it was him. I'm also shocked that none of the characters came to the obvious conclusion that Francis and Howard were having an affair. But they came to just about every other conclusion.

I did like the Lucy reveal. But i think there should have been a bit more hinting out who specifically she was.

The Tom storyline could have been cut entirely. We didn't even get to see the resolution between him and Alex.

Overall this was kind of disappointing.
