Even though this is a suspense- thriller book, it doesn’t go fast paced. It mostly follows the daily life of Alex. She felt like she was in a rut in her life. Bummed out by the death of weekly columnist Contance, she does an online application for the vacant job. It started as a fun thing but she is offered the job, and she accepts. The ending comes quickly and was a total surprise to me.

Almost halfway through the book and nothing has happened too slow of read for me
This felt like different stories mixed together - like the author was trying to do too much and it just didn’t grip me like I thought it would. I liked secondary characters, but just never really cared about Alex.

This book was written well enough and the cast of characters had a sweet friendship that really saved the book. Besides that the mystery and thriller wasn’t very mysterious or thrilling. The main character did some things that were questionable for someone with their trauma background.
I also think the book could have been more enjoyable as a physical read instead of audiobook.
