Perfect advice for those not truly prepared for the zombie apocalypse!

I loved this book!!! I am a huge zombie enthusiast, so this book was right up my alley. It was hard to decipher if Max Brooks was joking or completely serious when writing this book. His nonchalant but serious tone about the zombie apocalypse makes you question reality and if you are prepared for that fateful day. It is super helpful for your z-day prepping. It is a must read to meet your zombie survival needs.

This book is both a pretty good general survival guide and a satire of survival guides. The survival guide section is well done, and honestly everyone should have a basic knowledge of survival gear in case of emergency. The survival section gets increasingly more and more satirical. The historical section was pretty good--reporting zombie attacks over the years--but I felt Brooks tried too hard to make the attacks seems plausible, by claiming that most of these attacks had only been recently discovered through new archives. Either pretend there are real zombies throughout history or not! No need to rely on "recently discovered documents" that sound dodgy anyway.

Overall, a pretty good read, and not just for people who like to read about zombies.

Lot's of fun.

This book was really very interesting from the point-of-view of a person who likes to think up what if zombie scenarios in her free time, just to see what would make a realistic zombie movie.

What would real people do? Panic probably, but what would real, smart and prepared people do? Read this book!

It was entertaining and well thought out. Who doesn't like to think of the impossible and feel really smart?

Did not finish. It’s an interesting concept and I started it since I had just read world war Z and thought this would be a good companion, and while it’s fascinating I didn’t particularly care about the different types of rifles and ammo. Not rating this book since it would be unfair having not finished it.

Good read

This book was fun to read. It was really entertaining. However the author Pretty much seems to make it clear that we are all doomed if this were to happen. Still an enjoyable book

I wanted so much for this book to be good. The whole thing read like a first draft.

I'm not the biggest fan of the zombie genre. I started reading this because my husband bought it because he loved World War Z, by the same author, and so did I.

Truthfully, I skimmed.

It is really a practical guide to the zombie apocalypse, and in the case that one breaks out I'll be glad to have it, otherwise... meh. Not much use or entertainment.
