Certainly not the strongest of Max Brooks' zombie works. Most of the stories here were mentioned in the appendix of the Zombie Survival Guide, so these tales are just a visual interpretation of the ones mentioned in that chronology. Good for completionists who have to read all of the Brooks zombie books, but someone new to his work would be better off going with World War Z first.

I liked it a lot. I like how he tied big points in history and made it appear as though zombies have always been a part of life. I rather prefer zombie tales as graphic novels versus other formats really.

I read this book in spurts, and I must say, it is HILARIOUS! The idea of there being a time when humans are overrun by the undead amuses me. This guide will fill you in on all of the important things to keep in mind when encountering the undead! Just remember: it is safe to run...real zombies are slow and disoriented! And always aim for the head!

Now that I've finished this book, I must say it made me chuckle the whole way through! Great hints of what to do should we ever have an outbreak of zombies in our time!

It's very imaginative and I think Max Brooks did a great job of imagining a semi-plausible zombie scenario. It is exactly what it advertises to be: "a survival guide". As such it is really boring. However I recommend Max Brooks' other zombie-related book: "World War Z".

A very fun and interesting novel in the form of a guide. The author does a good job of backing up the possible existence of zombies with very realistic, albeit completely fake, scientific evidence. He also gives advice on how to survive in the event of an apocalypse. His advice expands to which weapons one should use, pros and cons of different environments, strategies for exterminating the dead, and more. I enjoyed when at the end he gave accounts on every known occurrence of a zombie breakout. Overall it was a very good book that I thoroughly enjoyed.

I hated this. Was this even written by the same person? WWZ was so good and well written and well-informed, and then this one is full of shit like "humans use less than 10% of their brains" are you serious?
